I sit here at my nav station, a third can of pirate juice in hand and thinking about the week behind us. It came and went in a flash. How do you hold on to these moments in time? How much time do you spend thinking, or writing about them before that encroaches on the time that could have been spent building new memories? It's by far my biggest form of resistance for writing.

These are the moments we only dream about. Blips in time you want to pause and have them last forever. But they never do. So dream we did. Maybe another can of pirate juice will bring it into reality. For 5 years we lived on the streets in our van. We lived with intentionality and sacrificed. We geared our brains toward one simple and linear path... to live on our boat in Catalina then travel the world. We were told time and time again we were living the dream but I think we were living FOR the dream. Now, full time on the Moonshine, we get the same response. Why we are just one of two sailboats bobbing around in a mooring field built for 100s more, I’ll never know. It’s been sunny and 65 degrees every day. It’s awful. Tell your friends. We have spent every. single. day. in the water. Our happy place. Open ocean swims in crystal clear water, chasing fish that never seem to let me get too close, cleaning Moonshine’s underside and replacing zincs, 11 pm naked cold plunges from losing card games, and 4-10 mile hikes every day. That’s our dream and we still can’t believe we’re living it. Cheers to hoping we never wake up.

As always, fair winds and following seas. YEW!, still afloat. Moonshine out.
